FAQs

  • We are based out of Fort Dodge, IA. As of right now, we provide this service to customers in Fort Dodge and the surrounding areas (within a 30 mile radius). If there are potential customers beyond 30 miles of Fort Dodge who are willing to drop off + pick up their keepsakes, then we will gladly provide this service for them!

  • Libby Gargano is the owner and operator of The Keepsake Co. Libby also owns a photography business: The Grey Collective specializing in newborn, family, wedding, and boudoir photography.

  • Your original keepsakes, your digitized files on a flash drive (or hard drive if your order is large), and peace of mind knowing your memories are safe and now easily accessible.

  • We want to make our process as efficient as possible, however, some photos can be a little more difficult to scan than others. Ultimately, we leave it completely up to you, whether or not you want to organize them beforehand. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to keep your photos in a specific/chronological order during the scanning process, although we will try our absolute best. Our main priority is to make sure your memories are scanned at high quality. We do want you to know though...you'll receive JPEG files of your photos on a flash drive. This is perfect for uploading to your computer, where you can organize and edit files to your liking.

  • Once you’ve officially signed a contract as a customer, we will coordinate a time and day for pick up or drop off (whatever is most convenient for you) of your keepsakes. Please make sure that your photos are stored in a sealed container. Storage bins work great. No loose bags or zip-loc bags, or open boxes. Please remove photos from albums beforehand.

  • Because The Keepsake Co. is not our only job, we limit the amount of projects we take on each month. Therefore, each project’s turnaround timedepends on the amount of photos needing scanned. If everything runs as smoothly as possible, I would say approximate / maximum timeframes would be the following: Handful (3-5 days), small batch (7- 15 days), medium batch (14 - 21 days), and large batch (20-31 days).

  • The quality of your digital files will depend primarily on the condition of your original photos. If there are any scratches, fading, tears, water damage, etc. that will show up on the digital files as well. Unfortunately, at this time we do not offer full photo restoration services. We do, however, offer basic enhancements. Please inquire about those specific needs as there is an additional fee. Please note: any photos that have any sort of adhesive residue , magnets, folds/creases will not be able to be scanned.

  • In short, yes to all three of those, however, there are special terms. We are more than willing to offer discounts when partnering with other businesses such as: funeral homes, libraries or historical societies, and nonprofits. We are also more than willing to offer discounts to any local business who has a bulk order (more than 5,000 photos). From time to time, you will find us donating our services to different causes such as: benefits, fundraisers, auctions, etc. We will also offer giveaways on our social media platforms from time to time.
